Who Is Chia De Zhong?

I’m Chia De Zhong, a Singapore-based bilingual emcee, singer, actor, content creator, educator and founder of The Charisma Code.

With 16 years of experience in hosting and performing, my professional journey spans corporate events, weddings, live entertainment, theatre, brand activations, social media content creation and educational programmes.

I’m a graduate of Singapore Management University (SMU), where I majored in Corporate Communications.

My background in communications, combined with years of practical stage experience, has shaped my approach to presenting, storytelling and audience engagement.

I believe that great communication goes beyond delivering the right words. It’s about creating meaningful connections, understanding your audience and making every interaction count.

That philosophy has guided my work across entertainment, education and entrepreneurship.

16 Years of Hosting and Performing: How It All Began

Every entertainer has a story about how they found their calling.

For me, one of my earliest professional milestones was hosting at the inaugural Singapore Youth Olympic Games in 2010.

Being part of an international sporting event and welcoming athletes was an unforgettable experience. It introduced me to the excitement of live hosting and the incredible energy that comes from connecting with an audience.

More importantly, it helped me realise that entertaining people was something I wanted to pursue professionally.

Over the years, I’ve continued to build my experience across different events, productions and performance opportunities.

My journey has taken me from community events and public celebrations to corporate stages, theatrical venues and digital platforms.

Each experience has taught me something different about communication, adaptability and the importance of understanding the people you’re performing for.

Today, 16 years later, I’m still discovering new ways to entertain, engage and inspire.

The entertainment industry has changed significantly since I first started performing.

Today, connecting with an audience doesn’t necessarily require a physical stage. Sometimes, all it takes is a smartphone, an idea and a willingness to make people laugh.

As a digital content creator, I produce short-form videos across platforms including TikTok and Instagram.

My content explores comedy, relatable everyday situations, family interactions and entertaining social observations.

One of my favourite creative approaches involves bringing familiar situations to life through humour and exaggerated characters.

Whether I’m filming a comedy sketch, creating a parody or involving my mother in a light-hearted video, I enjoy experimenting with different ways to entertain my online audience.
